Full Stack Software Engineer

Stockholm, Sweden

About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Ailit, you’ll define the digital backbone of the world’s first fully battery electric freight rail platform.

You’ll architect and build AilitOS - our real-time energy orchestration and control system - integrating everything from locomotive sensors to national grid data.

Your work will power the intelligence layer that keeps our battery-electric trains charged, optimized, and in motion across continents.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and build distributed systems for our real-time energy orchestration engine.
  • Develop control and telemetry software for onboard locomotive and super wagon systems.
  • Collaborate closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to bridge software and hardware integration.
  • Implement predictive models and optimization algorithms for battery lifecycle and charging efficiency.
  • Maintain scalability and reliability as we expand across global freight corridors.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have experience with real-time or safety-critical systems.
  • Able to deliver working systems in about one third of the time that competent people would estimate it would take.
  • Are comfortable working across hardware-software boundaries.
  • Think in systems, from physical energy flows to API design.
  • Are excited about solving a complex and real problem
