About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer at Ailit, you’ll help shape the physical design of our battery-electric locomotives and Super Wagon systems -. including the world’s largest modular battery architecture.

You’ll work on the structures, cooling, and integration that make our technology practical, efficient, and manufacturable at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, simulate, and prototype core mechanical systems for heavy rail environments.
  • Develop integration strategies for large-scale battery packs, power electronics, and cooling systems.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Optimize thermal management and structural performance across locomotive and wagon platforms.
  • Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to achieve seamless system integration.

Ailit is building modular battery systems for freight rail, enabling operators to reduce diesel consumption without changing train operations. We integrate batteries with our own power electronics, control software, and rail interfaces, assembling and operating the AI optimized energy systems for deployment in North America and other heavy-haul markets.
